Ok I have a dell 531, non slim and I just upgraded from 2 to 4 gigs of ram and a 9800gtx+. Now I need a decently priced PS that will power my 9800gtx+. I only have a single dvd drive, one hard drive and nothing extra added in the system just the basics so the PS upgrade is purely to power the new card.
The quieter the better as well, I just tried this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] k=PS575XBK and not only am I not getting a signal from my card it is wayyyyy loud, at least 2x louder than my OEM PS. I know, I was trying to get off easy with this one but I learned quick, thanks guys.
BWT anyone with an inspiron 531 thinking about upgrading from their 8600gt to a 9800gtx+ please dont do it, when I say you dont have a millimeter to work with, I mean it.

Pc power and cooling made a recommended dell replacement, but I don't know if newegg still carries it. That Logisys ps is junk; I recommend antec, corsair, ocz, seasonic, enermax and the pc power and cooling. All are decent; better to get a lower wattage in one of these instead of Logisys, pow-man, etc that may literally go up in smoke. It has happened to me, so I avoid cheaper brands.

Got to agree there man.
@OP: The Dell Compatible PSUs are pricey because: a) it's not the regular form factor, b) there is a only little market for Dell compatible PSUs. By all means, DO NOT skimp on the PSU.
I am more than willing to get a good ps, just don't want to spend too much is all. I also noticed that my evga 9800 gtx+from Dell has one 6 pin and the evga on newegg needs 2x 6 pin connectors.
You can use pretty much any power supply, the PCP&C doesn't have a switch, thats what makes it " Dell compatible ", it doesn't matter in your case.
Don't use Logysis, spend the extra to get one of the above mentioned brands,.
