Will ip-35 pro bottlneck gtx 295

Recently I took a good look at my mobo configs ,now that ip-35 is part of a museum ,Im led to believe if I will see a decrease in performance like in crysis maybe, and it clearly states that gtx 295 would require pci-e 2.0 ,what do you trully think ? btw my motherboard is abit ip-35 pro its got 2 pci-e slots x16,x4 v1.x

OS is 32bit I could easily go to 64bit .Psu is corsair 750watt

I see I need to upgrade sooner than I thought ,new mobo ,new cpu just to get the card running at full potential ,I see a hole in my pocket already

^ it's not the no. of lanes which is the issue, it's the PCIe spec, and because it's 1.1 it will bottleneck the GTX 295.

From what i no a pcie 1.1 x16 will NOT bottleneck a gtx295. "Maybe" a frame or 2 at max.

Fair enough. There hasnt been any new comparison with these newer cards so i cant provide a link. The GTX 295 has a total memory bandwidth of 223.8 GB/s while PCI-E x16 1.0 supports up to 250 GB/s and PCI-E x16 2.0 supports up to 500 GB/s. There shouldnt be any major bottleneck because it under the 250 GB/s limit. Hope that helps in some ways. Not the greatest example but you could use it to estimate. michaelmk86 agrees as well and he has the setup you want.

Im not 100% sure Ill buy it in regard that so many ppl r mentioning the dx11 lately , and its really great to know that it will not bottlneck ,but the next question is who knows how will dx11 card perform on pci e 1.x

I agree if you can hold of just a bit longer see what dx11 offers. Im sure prices of current cards will go a bit down so its a win-win situation. Im feeling confident next gen "Dual gpu" cards will saturate pcei x16 slot, since we come close with todays cards.

Oh ya lorik before i forget if you feel like its cutting close with a pcei x16 1.1 you could always up the frequency of the pcei bus in the bios would should help. I have mine set to 115mhz from 100mhz. ( no gain though since my gtx260 doesnt come anywhere near 250 GB/s limit) =P

I'm a bit hesitant as of now ,for the moment only small parts of my rig would be a nice afordable step forward ,just as long as my mobo is in fashion ,and when the time comes to move along with newer technology like 1336 ,I might consider a new rig.
