Recently I took a good look at my mobo configs ,now that ip-35 is part of a museum ,Im led to believe if I will see a decrease in performance like in crysis maybe, and it clearly states that gtx 295 would require pci-e 2.0 ,what do you trully think ? btw my motherboard is abit ip-35 pro its got 2 pci-e slots x16,x4 v1.x

As long as the cards in the pcie x16 slot it should run fine. Slow down could occur depending on the rest of your config such as cpu and ram.

I see I need to upgrade sooner than I thought ,new mobo ,new cpu just to get the card running at full potential ,I see a hole in my pocket already

PCEI X16 is plenty for todays cards i doubt there would be a bottleneck. Just make sure its running at x16. I personally would upgrade your system ram a bit as well maybe 4gig but if you do that you def would need a 64 bit os. The most cost effective way is to upgrade to a gtx285 and add 1 more gig to your system.

Why do you want to buy the GTX295 now? in a few weeks the DX11 cards will be out.

To answer your question, p-35 PCIe 1.1 is not going to bottleneck the GTX295 trust me I have GTX295 with a mobo PCIe 1.1.

I wish I could take your word for granted but before I make a fatal "maybe" mistake of buying it is there any link I could rely on.

Fair enough. There hasnt been any new comparison with these newer cards so i cant provide a link. The GTX 295 has a total memory bandwidth of 223.8 GB/s while PCI-E x16 1.0 supports up to 250 GB/s and PCI-E x16 2.0 supports up to 500 GB/s. There shouldnt be any major bottleneck because it under the 250 GB/s limit. Hope that helps in some ways. Not the greatest example but you could use it to estimate. michaelmk86 agrees as well and he has the setup you want.

Well nobody know for sure if the pci-e 1.1 is going to bottleneck the dx11 cards but defiantly for the single slot solutions the memory bandwidth is not going to be more than 250 GB/s.

Here are some benchmarks with my q6600 3,2GHz and GTX295 pci-e 1.1 if you want to see what kind of performance you will get if you buy the GTX295.

Anyway I suggest you to wait the dx11 cards to come out and then decide what you want to buy

Indeed great performance especially in crysis with an average of 39 ! I'm impressed ,after seeing that I'm not so sure I'm gonna wait ,(I'm fed up with my hd2900xt) :(

No problem glad i could help.

I agree if you can hold of just a bit longer see what dx11 offers. Im sure prices of current cards will go a bit down so its a win-win situation. Im feeling confident next gen "Dual gpu" cards will saturate pcei x16 slot, since we come close with todays cards.

Oh ya lorik before i forget if you feel like its cutting close with a pcei x16 1.1 you could always up the frequency of the pcei bus in the bios would should help. I have mine set to 115mhz from 100mhz. ( no gain though since my gtx260 doesnt come anywhere near 250 GB/s limit) =P

I'm a bit hesitant as of now ,for the moment only small parts of my rig would be a nice afordable step forward ,just as long as my mobo is in fashion ,and when the time comes to move along with newer technology like 1336 ,I might consider a new rig.
