help me please!

i'm assembling ans asus rampage extreme, the problem i'm facing is with the installation of the cpu cooler.

My quad core is 45nm so the cooler is halved... the stock package cooler i took out isnt clipping onto the motherboard... i hav a thermaltake spin-q and that fits in properly (It also has the same retention clips for the 775 as the stock cooler)

getting it to clip takes alot of force and i can see the board bending a bit while trying he stock cooler....

please help any1!

Thats the MOST ANOYING *** with LGA 775 stock coolers. I had same problem, took me like over 1hr and sweat to get it on. Its ok to put force in to it.

well i can see a bulge on the bback side of the board . ... should i still proceed?

each pin should clip in place with clicks.... the stock cooler will clip on to the motherboard - something is amiss

can you post a photo of all sides with the stock cooler atemping to be fitted..

um i cant take one now...i ran out of thermal paste. Had to mod the rampage extremes cooling system with the nylon washers and thermal paste.

when i was going ahead with the HSF, the last bit of thermal paste went out. I can see and feel the bulge to be about 1/4 ~ 1/2" deviation. I managed to clip i in but it took a hell load of force, although it clicked with a lot of effort i quickly took it off and tried the thermaltake Spin-Q it clicked with no extra effort...if u still need pics, then i can take them 2mrrw when i'l complete the build.

i dont get why intel made such STUPID coolers. I mean they cool good but the clipping part is GRRRRRRRRRRR. AMD is easy, although im a INTEL fan

but my question is...is it supposed to look inflamed on the back of the board?
