Hey all, Im back with a problem well I feel its a problem and it really annoys me sometimes.
Well In May I brought the new stuff thats in my Signature and I've always felt since ive had it that its been under performing.
Keep in mind before I had a

Packard Bell

Pentium D 820 2.8 GHz
2 GB Corsair RAM
7300SE Turbo Cache
Yes Very basic but I upgraded by a **** load and I've felt dissapointed since then.
Im just trying to figure out if its normal or if my systems underperforming.
1. Whats the best tools you can Recommend for me to Test My Hardware to give a accurate result
2. Im Currently running windows 7 RC, But Vista Had the same performance as Windows 7 So I don't think its the OS
3. I have a DxDiag if that helps at all? Ebuyers limits wont let me post it though so let me know.
What I mean, Is it feels really Slugish and crawls on boot up, I don't have that much bootup
it should be able to handle it
I don't see anything that really sticks out as a problem with your system. Based on what you've said, it sounds like it may be your hard drive. Judging by your other components, it seems a little out of place, was that salvaged from an older system? The only recent 3.5" drives I know of that still use 16 MB caches are Hitachi Deskstars. They haven't been doing so hot recently, their 1 TB .B revisions routinely end up in the online bargain bin deals.
I'll also ask if you were using 64-bit versions of Vista and Windows 7 RC since I didn't see you mention it. If you were still sticking to 32-bit, half of all that wonderful memory would be going to waste.
Is your 920 still overclocked to 3.0Ghz? I've had issues with an overclocked system that booted up really slowly, but was stable otherwise. Went away when I cut back on the overclock.
Also, what PSU do you have? You have some power hungry components, and your PSU could be causing issues if it isn't up to par.
The only other thing I'd check is your event logs in your admin tools. You might find some clues as to what's going on during bootup that may be causing delays. Sometimes a useless service that is trying to get itself started, and hogging more resources than it should will be getting itself stuck until it times out. If it's a service or app that runs in the background, it could be difficult to spot unless you check the event logs.
Hopefully those tips lead you to some conclusions, because you really should be getting great performance out of those parts you have.
Seconded on the event logs suggestion. It's almost certainly a software related issue. Your system should be snappy with a fresh install. I suspect if you reinstall minus Nortons, your troubles will disappear.
