k my system is:
amd phenom 955be which i still need to find out if its c2 or c3(can do from cpu-z right?)
coolermaster sphere cooler
Asus M5A97 EVO
kingston hyperx 4gb 1600 ram(will upgrade to x2 when i have the money)
400w generic psu
fata1ty 8500gt(oc'd for years safely)

do i need a better psu(bearing in mind i want to overclock and i will be buying a new gfx card soon, probably AMD because of crossfire in future)

should i be installing 32 bit windows 7 or 64 bit, since i am planning on overclocking it?
and what do you think i will be able to overclock to safely?(will post final stable oc when done just for fun)

Solution
- overclock alwauy's need good psu with high efficiensi from recommend brand corsair, antec, xfx, seasonic and other psu had good review from jonnyguru, hardwaresecreet, kitguru.
Psu needed depenp on power consumption vga , say crossfire :
Low end vga minimum xfire 600W - 700W
Midle vga at 750 - 800
Higend. at 850 above
- for system 32bit give more stable at overclock but limit RAM size .. But 64bit is very worth for now because give more size Ram. I saw you had 4GB and it need 64bit for effective.
- overclock will safe and fine, as long as not over temperature when do stress test. At 955be max 60C.
Also do it from bios ( if motherboard support modern bios like UEFI , it can used )

thank you very much for the info

do you think a antec truepower 750w semi modular would be ok?

Be informed. Before you buy any PSU read accurate, objective PSU reviews at reputable sites such as www.jonnyguru.com or www.hardwaresecrets.com on the EXACT model PSU that you are interested in as some brands have good and poor quality PSUs.

You can also get an accurate rating of how much PSU power is required for your current or future system at the PSU calculator link below. Once you know the total PSU watts required then you need to confirm that the 12v rail has enough amps. to support your Vid card(s) and the rest of the PC system.

There are several websites that show the Vid card power consumption in watts. Divide the watts by 12 to determine the amps. required on the 12v rail(s). Add 15 amps for the rest of the PC on the 12v rail and you now know the Minimum total 12v rail amps required under full load. It's best to have at least 5-10 amps. reserve on the 12v rail available under full load so the PSU is not loaded to 100%.
