Strange problem with files

Hi
i have a strange problem with files i downloaded
i wanted to copy them to another location but my system hang
i did a hard reboot
tried again - & again it hang
i ran scandisk & all is ok
but i can't copy these files. very strange
its not bad sectors because i ran scandisk and all was fine

Delete and re-download them to a different location see what happens.

Download was probably corrupt or there was a bad spot on the disk.

The Windows scandisk is not the best drive check utility. Disk may be fine and the download was corrupt. Bad disk section is just one of the options.

Full disk check utility, either from the hard-drive vendor, the computer vendor, or a program like HD Tune.

Depending on the size of the disk, it can take a long time. That's because it actually scans for several different types of errors and does a much more thorough job that the Windows checkdisk utility. You don't need to run all of them, just one that will work with your hardware.
