I guess from reading the latest articles and newsbriefs about this is that it is backward compatible like USB2.0 and 1. but will all of the ports be color blue? Can anyone confirm this?

All USB 3.0 are supposed to be blue, just to recognize them. USB 2.0 will be black or white, as usual.
