i'm wonding if the OCZ modXstream pro 700w is enough to power an i5 build with crossfired 5850s.

Yes, however, you will need a grand total of four 75 watt, six pin PCI-e power cable for the two video cards. The OCZ only comes with two. You will need two molex to PCI-e adapters. Some video manufacturers supply a molex to PCI-e adapter with their cards.
