Slow hard drive

For some reason my hard drive randomly "dies out" on me, where it gives me LOW read and write access. Shutting down my pc for an hour or 2 fixes the problem, but that isn't really optimal.

Any one can give me some tips to how I can find out why it does this?
The drive is new and I have returned it and revived a new one so its not the drive that's bad.

Have now and no real improvement.

However on further inspection I noticed this:

Code:
HD Tune Pro: ST31000528AS Health

ID Current Worst ThresholdData Status
(C7) Ultra DMA CRC Error Count 200 156 0 14918 warning

Health Status : warning

There were communication errors. This may be caused by a damaged cable.

So this is the cult pit I have been after? A bad cable?

I have now tried 3 different cables and 1 new one.

All the same.

I also tried moving the hard drive to my old computer. I did not experience any slow down nor did that warning display.
Both my hard drive displays Ultra DMA CRC Error warnings, through my C drive does not slow down.

So could I have a bad motherboard?
