Help building first gaming computer

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: October
BUDGET RANGE: US$500-1000 the less the better but i still want a good computer.

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: none

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: whatever is the best

OVERCLOCKING: maybe? sli/crossfire: maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: don't have one yet...

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: it needs to look good but work fast with games.
i haven't done much research on this...

  1. Cant help you yet, the market is going to go through a few significant shifts between now and october like intel's i5's and AMD's DX11 cards. Any prices found now for components aside from the case and power supply wont mean a thing in a month or two, and by october they will all be different. Come back about 2 weeks before you are ready to buy and we will set you up with a good setup. But stick around in the meantime you will learn alot.
  2. Parts not required = none meaning no mouse/keyboard/monitor/speakers?

    if so, alot of the really good products batuchka threw together wont flow together for $1k.

    I'd drop the 4870x2 for a 4890.
