Im looking at getting a 9800GT card and it says i need 26 amps on the +12V

My PSU is a Hyena DR-D400EXP 400w with 2 rails one at 15A and 1 at 14A

would this be enough or would it be pushing it?

thanks guys

Generally speaking it will be fine. The 26A "requirement" is for the entire system, not just the video card.

Listing your PC components would help, but as long as you are not overclocking a quad core and have several hard drives & optical drives you should be fine.

A good quality 400W PSU is just fine for the 9800GT...but the brand - "Hyena" ??? Not sure if its of good quality and can handle the 9800GT...though on paper it should be able to...but it depends more on the quality...

A Google search for your PSU turned up only one reference, in another language, where it may have been an Allied unit. If that's the case, your "Hyena" is overrated junk, and will choke, smoke, and croak when loaded to as little as 80%. The 9800GT may only need around 11A though, so it "may" work. I'm not sure that's a chance I'd take. If your budget permits, get a quality PSU from Antec, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, or Enermax. At the very least, find one with full range active PFC (no little voltage switch) and 80+ certification. An Earthwatts 380 would be sufficient, but something in the 450W-500W range would give you more headroom and would likely operate in a more efficient part of its range.
