Equivalent to 8600GT

Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards Equivalent to 8600GT

Hi. I was thining of buying an XFX 8600 GT (512MB version) but before i do i would like to know if there is an alternative ATI card for the same price and needs no more than a 350 PSU so i have a better choice.

Get a HD 4670. It will blow it outta the water.

+1 for a 4670.
It is roughly twice as fast as a 8600gt, low power and very reasonably priced.

The equivalent would be something around a steaming pile of feces that neither impresses or excites with a side of overpriced.

the ATI equivalent would be the 3650

the 9500GT or ATI4650 would be a slightly better card and the ATI 4670 would also be a much better card, none need an external adapter.

The 9500gt performs nearly identical to the 8600gt.
Same amount of shaders and bus width with a 10Mhz core clock bump and a 100Mhz RAM clock reduction.
The only advantage it has is slightly lower power consumption.

A 4650, while quite a bit slower than a 4670, will still greatly outperform an 8600gt/9500gt and consumes even less power.
Both the 4650 and 4670 max out around 50w power consumption.
