Hi new poster here. Anyways I've been running IDE drives on this Gigabyte GA-M55SLO-S4 (rev 2.0) motherboard ever since I built the computer nearly 4 years ago. It has several SATA slots but I've never been able to get a SATA hard drive to work on it. Recently I've been running out of room and decided to give it another try, with a Seagate Barracuda ST31500341AS 1.5TB hdd. Of course, it's not showing up in My Computer, NOR in Device Manager, nor in Disk Management. BIOS and mobo drivers were updated about a month ago. When I first installed it I got a message about "press F10 to enable RAID" or something like that but it would not let me confirm everything without a second hard drive. I just want to be able to use this new hard drive as my primary boot drive. What am I doing wrong or what can I change to make it work??

Maybe there is a Bios option to "enable" SATA controller. Check that and then try
