Hello,
I have a Dell XPS 200 that is getting to the login screen and letting me log in but about 30-60 seconds after the desktop appears a message appears on the screen that it is going into the "power saver" mode and it reboots back to the log on screen. Could this be the motherboard?

Probably not the Motherboard... try F8 right after the BIOS post and hold the key down till the Safe Mode options list appears on the screen, and select the Last Know Good Configuration, and hit Enter.

Next go to the Control Panel and check the Power Options settings and set the "Always On" power scheme... next click on the Hibernation tab and uncheck the setting to disable Hibernation and delete the Hiberfil.sys file which saves the power saving settings and may be corrupted. Next reboot the computer and see how it behaves. If the problem is solved you can re-enable the Hibernation and select you favorite power scheme. A virus-malware scann would also be recommended to discard a possible infection.
