Hey guys,

I am new to the community. Just looking for a nice gaming computer for around $1,000.


APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: tomorrow
BUDGET RANGE: ~$1000
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, schoolwork
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, os, speakers

^Those components are pretty good...
But here are a few suggestions...

1. CASE + PSU -
CM Storm Scout - It is as good or better than the Antec 900 and has Free shipping too...
And the PSU is a better quality one, more efficient @ 80+ Silver...

2. Change the graphics card to the HD 4890(Unless you want to stick with Nvidia no matter what)...As it would be more apt for that resolution and is more powerful than the GTX 260...

You might also want to add an aftermarket CPU cooler, if you want to try your hand @ overclocking...though the stock is good for upto 3.4GHz...but above that, it would have problems...
This is one of the best CPU coolers out there and comes with TX-2...

The Dark Knight is a great HSF.

Check the link in my sig. I recently did a project at the $1k price point and have a similar build with some other savings you may be able to use. Shopping both newegg and ZZF can save big time.
