Time to upgrade?

is it a good idea to upgrade?

I'm planning to upgrade my desktop and at-least make it future-proof here's what i have in mind

Processor Amd Phenom II x4 955 3.2ghz 120$++
am3+ Asrock 970 Extreme 4 106$++
Ram Gskill Ripjaws X 8gb 4gbx2 Ddr3 1333 54$++

Palit GTX 550ti sonic - from HD6850 to GTX 550ti sonic because of "Vertical line of death"

What do you use your PC for? What do you want to be able to do with it in said future?

well i work at home as a web analyst but during weekends i'm playing games all day. i just want it to be versatile work and can play games in high settings.

dont know how the 550ti will go on HIGH settings,

you may need a more powerfull card..

560ti, 570 or 580
