Hey everyone, I am getting my brand new ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler today and I got a question. Should I use the Pre-applied ARCTIC MX-2 or should I apply my own Artic silver. The main reason I ask is that I always question myself when I apply any thermal compound.

Oh I plan to OC the cpu so most quality matters and the Artic silver that I have has been sitting around for about a year or so, just wondering is that will effect the quality of the Artic Silver.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

Any of the top 15 TIMs works just fine. Use what comes with the HSF.

I've always had good sucess with AS 5 and is my choice for any cpu or gpu or chipset. I've even replaced the stock paste on my video cards with it. The stuff is 99% silver and as far as I know silver does not go bad. I have a 12 gram tube I have been using for almost 2 years.
