Internal display problem (Toshiba 1800)

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1800 that had an intermittent LCD display
problem. The computer would boot up to full brightness but then it
would go to black (not to complete black because I could still see the
very faint desktop) If I pushed down the display on/off button it
would come back to full brightness for awhile. Do you think my LCD
panel is done? I can only get the very faint image when I boot up now.

Very common problem on that model. Needs a new FL Inverter.
