Scandisk file on xp

Hi,

I cannot defrag my files on XP. They are suggesting I use SCANDISK or CHKDSK to remedy the faults . I cannot locate any of these files.
Please guide me.

Cjkdsk is a command file.
Start > Run > Enter cmd click ok
Enter chkdsk /r click ok
(If asked to schedule it on next boot reply yes and reboot system)
