My Dell Dimension 2400 PSU doesn't work until I push the front button six or seven times. Even then, with all acces. disconnected, the lights on back don't light and nothing works.

Dell gets a bit weird with it's proprietary stuff but I "quick test" a generic CPU with a paperclip across the green wire and a black one next to it. DO a web search on "paperclip trick PSU" to learn more. WARNING....again Dell is weird with their proprietary stuff so no guarantees :)
