Hello, I am trying to connect a Dell laptop Inspiron 600 that I have wireless on so that I can use the wireless. In using the wireless network wizard it asks me to create an SSID name? How do I create that?

You do this in the router's setup screens, wireless settings. See the literature which came with your router for how.
Just think of a name that you will recognise later -- you'll see that in the router's setup the default SSID is frequently the maker's name -- you just replace that.
