I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a Samsung R780 laptop and tried to install a dual-boot with windows 8 running side by side with windows 7 using a USB installation but received a warning when setting up a new partition that my disk will be converted to a dynamic disk.
Is it OK to continue and would it affect my current operating system which is install on a basic disk? I currently have a partition for recovery and another partition for system.

Thanks
EJ

I agree with Herr_Koos and is exactly what I did. I always install beta and developer code in a VM so you don't have to worry about it messing up your computer.

I would not convert the disk to a dynamic disk unless you plan on using software raid. It can be difficult to convert a dynamic disk back to a basic disk without 3rd party software. Windows does not have a built in option to revert to a basic disk.
