Desktop wireless adapter

Hello all! :]

I'm building a computer for gaming:

I posted in the NIC forums about what kind I should get and the general consensus was PCI. I'm about 20-30 feet away from the router. Do I need to spend more money to get better range and connectivity?

The router is an 802.11g Linksys.

30 ft away should be okay but signal level may depend on how many walls in between.

It's going through two walls. One is kind of thick because it's an old house. Is there anything I can do?

Experiment with changing channels because the different frequencies work better or worse in different environs.

Try to place the router above furniture level.
