I haven't heard of any hardware that you could install that would keep in
"internal" to the thinkpad.

That said - I personally use a small USB hub that works perfectly - plug it
into the single USB port, and then 4 other devices into the hub.

Also - depending on your situation - if you're mostly stationary at a desk
or something - you could always buy the Select-A-Base. It would only gain
one additional USB port though. Dpeneds on your situation.

I use the external 4 port hub - not exactly handy, but works for me.

'morning Jim,

The second USB port? All the 600's I've seen/had have only one USB port. You
can get a 2-port or 4-port USB hub, small block plugs into the one v1.0(cant use
2.0 for 600 series) port. It's a small cube, looks like the key-chain version
of the old Rubiks cube... 'bout 2" square... about $8 I think.

There's only _one_ USB port on the 600 series machines.

Thanks again Guys,,
I thought there might be a FRU or something,, as the hatch covering the USB is double wide and there
is a null spot that could be a 2nd port. I'll check around for the 2-4-1 plug.

If you want a portable USB hub, Keyspan makes a particularly nice one. Enter
this Google search:

keyspan mini usb hub

The first couple of links will be the product page and a review. Then you
can click on the Froogle link at the top to see who sells it.
