ok. my motherboard fried the other day. but i want a new one anyway. so if i buy a new motherboard and cpu, would i need to buy the operating system software. and if i do what do you recomend.

You need to list a budget and what leftover parts you have, especially memory. Ddr2 or ddr3? Operating system is up to you and your budget. Saw a new vista 64 bit operating system for only $20 on my local craigslist yesterday, but I was too late.
