Bios?

I set up my computer and installed the OS, but some guides recommend tweaking some settings in OS. I'm really scared to mess with anything. Could someone walk me through in detail what exactly I need to do in BIOS?

Hmm if they meant tweaking OS i think they were referring to possibly disabling some services and unnecessary start up items me thinks hehe

Well, for example, one guide mentions enabling Cool'N'Quiet and SmartFan. I don't know anything about this so I'm afraid to mess around without guidance.

Oh nah you won't mess anything up - there are guides how to enable CnQ properly so read up on em while smart fan activation/settings really depend on mobo so have a looksy what peeps set for that on your mobo ^^

Cool and Quiet is enabled by default, and Smart Fan should be also.
If you go into your BIOS and load all the optimized defaults, you are just fine.
You can manually turn off some things in your boot order and boot preferences to speed up boot time, but other than that, unless you are overclocking, Optimized defaults for each page, and then just leave your BIOS alone.

I checked and they weren't enabled.

Should I manually enable those two features, or just load optimized defaults?\

Ya try load defaults and see what clocks u getting with CPU-Z in idle mode?
