Hi,

My friend gave me his old Packard Bell system that has been sitting around. I've done basic testing, and all of them came back negative.

- Switched the RAM out with a different stick
- Switched the GPU out with another one

Now, the PC starts, but nothing appears on screen, and the hard drive also doesn't kick in. My first impression was that the motherboard has gone, but could it also be the CPU, or the PSU perhaps?

Thanks!

Here are some more troubleshooting tips... READ before posting about boot problems!. They might not all apply since the PC had been running but gives you different areas to look at.

Yup, I thought of that but nope, no beeps. Maybe the there is no inbuilt speaker. I also tried both onboard and offboard VGA's. Still no beeps or picture on screen.

Any other suggestions?
