What would be a better processor? It will be used for home office use, but I want it to be adaquete for the next couple of years. Because these are pre-built computers, I am limited to these choices. How different are these?
So the E2200 and Athlon X2 II 215 are about the same? Are they both better than the X2 5000+ or 5050e?
How would the X4 9650 compare to the dual core in single/double threaded applications? I probably don't need it now, but would it keep my computer more usable in the future?
Is the hard ware in each of these computers the same excluding the processor? Just because one computer has the better processor doesn't mean it'll perform better.
Personally I would go with the Athlon II or the Phenom depending on whether you feel the need for a faster dual core or a quad core.
Here are the links for the computers. I'll be going to pick one of them up later today. The main differences is that the Phenom has more 1GB of RAM, doubles the hard drive space to 640GB, and costs $40 more. I already have an ATI 2600XT ready to put in it, although I won't be gaming.
So, would the increase in 2 cores, 1GB of RAM, and 320GB of hard drive space make the second computer worth $40 more?
