My current pc spec as below:

AMD Athlon X2 5000 oc until 3.1 Ghz
Msi K9n Neo V3 (ms 7369)
Kingston 3Gb ram 5300 *which oc until 400 mhz*
Geforce 9800GT 1GB
Cooler Master Extreme Power 460W
23.6" monitor (1920X1080)

1) I wonder why my clock speed maximum only can oc from 2.6 to 3.1 Ghz? If i oc furthermore it will say overclocking fail or bluescreen. Is it my motherboard limit it?

2) Currently when i play Crysis and Crysis Warhead, i only can play with Medium setting, even sometime with many AI will feel lagging. My friend told me that is my processor bottleneck my graphic card, is it the true?

3) My dream pc is only for gaming, so do i buy the dual core? triple core? or quad core for my new pc in order to run every game on very smooth condition without any lagging.

1. Yes you are limited by your RAM, mobo, chip and possibly HSF
2. 9800GT Crysis medium on 1920 x 1080 is about as good as it gets lol
3. Hit at least a tricore OC as needed hit as good a GPU you can afford for GPU slot for best frames/$$ config naturally for serious gaming rig GPU takes precedence over that nice shiny case or fancy mobo with nice PCB colors lol

May i know what is HSF? I apologize for it, because i am a newbie here.

I would like to play Crysisand Crysis Warhead with the very high setting, perhaps i built a new rig that can support it?

Phenom II X3 720 (perhaps can oc until 3.2 Ghz?)
Asus M4N78 Pro
Corsair 4Gb ram 1066 Mhz
Palit GTX275 896MB DDR3
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 550W

The motherboard is Am2+, but it say AM3 ready. The question i want to ask is, if i put the AM3 processor on the motherboard, is it will run with fully function? And can i put a DDR3 ram on that board?

Ur help will be very appreciated...

I see, that mean i can run pretty well for the Am3 triple core on the board. But i think so far i do not need DDR3 ram. Because it is costly in Malaysia. Is it ddr2 and ddr3 are very much different? Let say i put DDR3 ram in my computer, do the performance are very obvious compare than DDR2?

Brother Batuchka, the rig u show me is quite costly for me, because i'm a Malaysian, the rig still selling with a very high price in Malaysia.

OK, let say i want to max the setting but off the anti aliasing with 1920X1080 resolution, does the rig can support it?

Phenom II X3 720 (perhaps can oc until 3.2 Ghz?)
Asus M4N78 Pro
Corsair 4Gb ram 1066 Mhz
Palit GTX275 896MB DDR3
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 550W

So far for the triple core, the maximum OC is until how many GHZ? Sorry if i do any grammar mistake, because my english is not so good as u guy =D

For OC your mileage may vary as they say. Ya if costs are prohibitive no sweat running that 720BE on an AM2+/DDR2 set up ^^ No performance hit Work on your cable management and get case fans installed for intake/exhaust

ic..the important thing is i must make sure my rig can support highest setting to play Crysis and Crysis Warhead.lol...you guy think i shoud get Phenom II X2 550 or Phenom II X3 720? Let say i buy Phenom II X3 720 and i oc it until same speed with henom II X2 550, is it triple core is faster than dual core? And my friend told me that dual core always can oc much a lot than triple core, is it a true story?

the triple core will kill a dual core even a dual at 3.5+ would stuggle to match a 720 at 2.8 cuz if apps an gmes are dual threaded like crysis an you only got a dual core means it will by more stressed in running your game + os+ ect on the tri core your gamewill run 2 cores an the third core will run your os an anything else
