I'm selling my barely used laptop --includes hundreds of $ of programs
( + also printer, briefcase, surge protector, etc). I'm able to use my
new housemate's computer unlimitedly -- so I can't afford to keep this
luxury. I've copied the info about it at the bottom of this email.

1). $1600 Firm: For just the Laptop( Description below), including
hundreds of $ of expensive programs ( photoshop, etc...) + an esoteric
collection of music.

--OR--

2). $1700 Firm with the following barely used & unused: Color PRINTER
(light-weight, comes with plastic carry-case but not classified as a
portable) / Special Padded BRIEFCASE / SURGE PROTECTER plugs strip/

LAPTOP DESCRIPTION:

Best Laptop on the market: other notebooks are cheaper, but so far,
none have all the great features of this Satellite; especially The
Subwoofer, Remote Control, Ability to listen to the CD's without
having to turn on the laptop and now the additional benefit - The
built-in TV Tuner. Sleek system unit with a dazzling display and the
first implementation of the nVidia GeForce Go5600 graphics processor,
makes this also a desirable portable for game-playing. Impressive
half-inch-high DVD-RAM multi-drive. Has technical advantages over
other rewritable DVD technologies, and it can also create write-once
DVD discs that can be played virtually anywhere. With portable PCs
doing so many tasks once reserved for desktops, it was only a matter
of time before a notebook computer doubled as a Windows Media Center
Edition (MCE) PC. First out is the Toshiba Satellite 5205-S705 ( sells
for $2,700).

Runs Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE)(and DVD burner; big
screen); which essentially turns your laptop into a TiVo. You can
watch live TV, browse through the Program Guide for available shows,
schedule shows to record, and play back recorded shows either at home
or on the road.

Notebooks dedicated to DVD or media playback have made great strides
in their screens. Toshiba's 15-inch display offers UXGA resolution
(1,600-by-1,200), with what the company calls Clear Advanced Super
View, a technology that enhances screen brightness, contrast, and
viewing angle. With DVDs or with self-edited movies made with the
included Panasonic MotionDV software, you get dazzling screen images
that can be sent to an external monitor via a one-touch TV-out button.

There's the viewable-from-a-distance interface that lets you enjoy
photos, DVDs, or the stored PVR (personal video recorder) content.
Sound quality from the integrated Harman Kardan speaker system
(including a vestigial subwoofer) is very good. Toshiba also includes
Microsoft Works.
