8GB (4x2GB) Corsair XMS3,ASUS P7P55D

Hi,

Will CMX8GX3M4A1333C9 - 8GB (4x2GB) Corsair XMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24 of RAM be recognised by windows 7 on an ASUS P7P55D motherboard being run by an Intel I7 860.

I heard that the I7 860 will only process 2 of the 4 memory slots and reduce the amount of recognised RAM.
I`m a bit confused by the Asus data sheet and Intels wright up.

Help!

    Thanks for your help.

What are Intel on about then?

With the i7 860 duel channel how does that work then, do the 4 sticks of memory work as 2 channels or something?

    Thanks again

    Any info would be great!
  4. They were probably stating that 32bit version of windows would only recognise 4gb of ure ram so you need 64 bit windows to see all 8 gb
