I want to build a budget gaming system. If I use the 435, I can get a better graphics card. Do you think it is better to sacrifice a core for that?

Generally for gaming if you have to sacrifice either some GPU or some CPU then it's best to sacrifice the CPU as the graphics card is often more critical. And the 435 will still be pretty decent for most current games.

435 will probably be slightly better for gaming due to the fact almost no games can utilize 4 cores and it has a higher clock speed. If your budget is that tight, I would say get the x3 and a better graphics card.

in this case the 435 is a better choise... even though the 620 has 1 more core, at the moment and since that even means you can buy a better graphics just go for it... the extra clock speed should make up for a while the lack of one more core... maibe in the future this will change, but that would make a diference if you got the same graphics card...

Thanks, that's what I thought as well...

But what about say, next year. Don't you think the Athlon X4 620 will be a better choice?



At the moment, I am torn between.

Athlon X3 + ATI Radeon 5750

Athlon X4 + ATI Radeon 4770

I would take the first option.
