Thermal paste or air cooling?

I'm thinking of getting this for my i5 2500k, I'm going to be doing some moderate oc'ing (about .4-.6 GHz).

So, do I really need it or will thermal paste suffice?

You shouldn't other thermal paste from stock hyper 212 is good too. But if you want more cool get AS5
