My Lite-On writing program has vanished from my dvd/cd-rw drive.

Hello,
I have an XP and suddenly, my dvd writer and cd writer is gone! It's a Lite-on DVD rw SHW-160H6S and when I try to burn anything it says that the drive is not writable. I've tried everything but just want to find the writing driver so when I try uninstalling to reinstall, I'll be sure to have the back-up driver.

Not all drives can write to all media. Go to the Lite-on website and see if there are hardware updates for your SHW-160H6S. If there are, install it.

If you still cannot write to the media try using media from a different manufacturer.
