CPU Cooler to fit in my Thermaltake V4 Black Edition

Good day!

First of all, I would like to ask if these coolers will fit in my Thermaltake V4 Black Edition: http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?S=1308&ID=1967

a. Thermaltake Contac 29: http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1148&ID=1906
b. Thermaltake SpinQ VT: http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1148&ID=1904
c. Cooler Master Hyper 212+: http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?category_id=1623&product_id=2923
d. Cooler Master Vortex Plus: http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?category_id=1623&product_id=2984

Here are my specs for reference:
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3449
Processor: Intel i7-950 (3.06 Ghz)
Video Card: Inno3d GTX 460 OC: http://www.inno3d.com/products/graphic_card/gf400/gtx_460.html
RAM: Kingston 2GB 1333 DDR3 (3 pcs)
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 700w: http://www.villman.com/Product-Detail/Thermaltake_Litepower_700

Secondly, if they can fit in my case, which of these fans will be best for my build?

Thirdly, what's the use of thermal paste? And how do you use it? (I'm still new to building computers. lol)

Thanks in advance for all the answers!

Note:
My CPU temps
Idle: 45 C
Load: 90 C

I'm currently using the stock CPU fan and I know I need to replace it.
Those are my only choices because they are the things only available near my place.
Lastly, I don't plan on overclocking, but still, I want the best for my build. :)

  1. Hi.

All those coolers fit inside your case EXCEPT the Hyper 212+, I'd go with the SpinQ VT.

    This. +1

Most cases provide a three dimensional limit in Millimeters like... 8 inches high (From your motherboard to your side panel window) also length and width which can be useful for determining ram clearance as well.

A know-nothing knuckle dragger like me just buys the biggest Case I can find and shove the heaviest copper weight I can lift, steal, strip or buy into that CPU spot.

Hello, thanks for the reply. But I just read something on the net that Hyper 212+ can fit in either V3/V4.

    Here they are:
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1537668
    http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling/1082570-cooler-master-hyper-212-thermaltake-v3.html

And both V3 and V4 have 190mm width. What do you think?
  4. Check my Hyper 212+ installation guide in my signature, the Hyper 212+ almost fit in a TT V9. Even, if you press the side panel of the V9 you can touch the cooler with the panel, so, in the V3 and V4 won't fit.

Check the guide, the last two pictures.
  5. Uhmm, I just read your post. NICE GUIDE! :)

Anyway, how about DeepCool coolers? Are they good? I'm interested in the ff:

    a. DeepCool Ice Blade Pro: http://www.deepcool-us.com/Product/ICE_BLADE_PRO
    b. DeepCool Tiger Shark: http://www.deepcool-us.com/Product/TIGER_SHARK/

Will they fit my case? Which is the best of them ALL in your opinion?

(Sorry, I'm still new to these things, really. Hehe!)

I had my CPU checked yesterday and both TT Frio and CM V6 GT didn't fit my case. That's why I'm looking for a bit smaller, yet good cooler. :(

    Isn't V6 GT bigger than Hyper 212+?
  7. Yeah, my mistake. You need a cooler under 158mm high.

Just bought CM Hyper 212+ and it fitted in my V4 just fine, with small space left to close the side panel.
  9. Yeah was going to say a 212+ will fit in a V3/4 just fine.
