Hello all , I'm using a Patriot Torx 64GB SSD with about 9GB of free space. While playing BC2 I got a warning message indicating I was running out of free space. I closed the game, checked and was alarmed to see only 3GB remaining. I closed exporer window to run a cleanup utility then looked again. This time it said I only had 280MB of free space. I lost almost 9GB of free space insantly. What could have caused this ? I had to do an emergency uninstall of LFD just to free up some space.

Thanks

Did you move your pagefile to a different drive? Windows default setting will grow the pagefile on demand. Also, in disk cleanup, there is a setting to delete all but the last restore point.

You can also use windirstat to graphically show you large files.

That is actually the utility that I have been using for years. I will look at the patch files but something is up. I went from 9GB of space to 3GB to 238MB in the span of about 10 seconds. Im baffled.

I figured it out. I must have toggled MSI Afterburner vid capture on by mistake. I discovered 10 GB of videos. After deleting these and LFD I'm now up to 23GB. What led me to discovering this was windirstat recommended by Hawk. Thanks a lot bro!

Can always find an answer here! Thanks again
