Windows xp toolbar and icons lost

I only have background pic showing and right click does nothing. I do have movement in curser. Desktop typed in at "run" takes me to "Open With". I also have tried to run new tasks such as notepad and I get denied access. The "shut Down tab will shut down windows.

1 - Try a Windows System restore to date when it worked correctly.

2- With Windows CD do a Repair-Install.

3 - Infected ? - Run AV and Malware Scans

I'm guessing you either have a virus or had a virus. If you have a virus, go though this guide http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/248626-45-simple-free-guide-removing-malware

If you had a virus, you need to make the All Users account un-hidden, and reset your exe files to normal.
