APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: two weeks later

BUDGET RANGE: 1500~1550 US Dollars

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, Watching Movies, Surfing the web, very little rendering

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: OS, Mouse (Logitech G5)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg... will order everything from one place (newegg seems to be cheapest anyways)

PARTS PREFERENCES:

I would like to use a monitor of 21.5'' with 1920 x 1080 native resolution.
(was considering http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)

i7-920 for CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Scythe Mugen 2 CPU cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

6 GB of ram, 1600 mhz DDR3 (since I'll be OC'ing the CPU)

Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Please include these in the budget as well, need them:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

PSU : 750 w or 850 w i guess? 750 w seemed enough though

was considering this HDD, WD Caviar Black 640 gb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Motherboard must be SLI/CF compatible obviously.
Was considering SLI/CF of 260, 275 and 4890 but not sure.

Help with graphics card, keyboard, monitor, case, memory, motherboard, PSU.
Combos welcome...

OVERCLOCKING: Yes

Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes, I want to play at max everything (AA maybe not max, but high AA) for demanding games like crysis.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920 x 1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I don't care about appearances, and I don't mind noise that much (unless its REALLY bad).
Combo deals are obviously welcome (unless they expire in the next two weeks)

Subtotal: $1,502.36 + tax and shipping

(We can cut 79.99 off that if you have a micro center close to buy the i7 there http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml...

if you really want a 21.5 use this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... and save 50 bucks more) < this will make up for the tax and shipping or leave room if tax and shipping is not part of the 1500 for KB speekers and a better case say CM 922 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GL on the build

^ you do know you can get mobo's with the same features as that one and only a slightly worse OC for $170?
August 9, 2009 2:42:47 PM

I was thinking about the Asus P6t (non deluxe), the gigabyte UD3R.
WHat else is a good option, and which one should I go for?
August 9, 2009 2:44:45 PM

cross out gigabyte UD3R.. I would need to buy a SLI bridge and stuff.. too much hassle.
August 9, 2009 2:45:14 PM

^ the P6T is a good board, but if you don't think you'll use an nvidia card then save $30 and get the SE version.

or just get the Asrock Extreme for $170.

BUDGET RANGE: 1500~1550 US Dollars

yes there are better MOBO CASES HDD RAM ect but we are try to keep it under the budget no ?
August 9, 2009 3:49:32 PM

i dont think the 4870 x2 fits the budget. also i dont think you need the toolkit. a philips head screwdriver will do.

maybe 4890..............

I hade the 4870X2 in the budget
    August 9, 2009 5:16:33 PM

^ the X2 isn't a great choice anyway since the next gen GPU's will trounce it.
    August 10, 2009 12:59:31 AM

That might be true but you will still need a GPU now if you want to play games. Maybe hold off on the PC then or buy a cheep card to get you buy then get a 5XXX card
    up to you
