Maybe you haven't connected the GPU properly or you need a bigger PSU because of the now higher power demands.

even if the processor is bad, the monitor should still respond to the video card tho right? if the proc was DOA my monitor should at least show somthing?

does the machine power on and are all components functioning?

Reply to jf812

Is the graphics card new? Does your PC have integrated graphics also?

no its a 650 i lt.. but i just noticed somthing and probably happened when my kids got there hyper spurt and distracted me.... like 3 of the round things that stand up on mobo are really bent to the side.... i am assuming this is probably it. *sigh*

i'll assume you mean the transistors. If so i'm afraid you might be out of luck. Try getting hold of a cheap graphics card and seeing if you get any luck with that. If you do then you need to buy a new graphics card.

did you check if the new processor is compatible with your motherboard before you purchased it?

Reply to jf812

yeah... well i figured a socket 775 would work with any 775 or am i mistaken?

Check the MOBO's website and make sure the CPU is compatible with your motherboard and CURRENT BIOS revision. Some mobo's may require a BIOS update to detect new CPU's.

FYI, when posting with a problem it sure helps to have system specs....otherwise you may just receive generalized answers.....
