  1. For that resolution monitor a 4850 will give you medium-high on most games but you need a 4870/GTX260 for high on all.

For a hard drive consider the 640GB caviar black,
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319&Tpk=640%20black%20caviar

This combo will give you a good motherboard, a great processor, and tons of graphics power to work with

For about the same as a 945, the MSI 770 board, and a 4870.

Any sata burner that burns the types that you want should do, the differences arent a ton.

My first choice is Samsung. My very close second choice is LG. For me, it mostly depends on availability. If I am home in the States: Samsung. In Saudi Arabia, no one where I live carries Samsung. I buy LG there.

although that combo looks nice i think it would put me over my budget. And I don't think I need all that power as well.

how does this setup look instead?

are there any good combos for the budget/midrange computer?
  5. It's all pretty good except for the CPU. I would get a 550 minimum or a better yet a 720... You can combo the MOBO with the PSU. Also, it looks like you forgot RAM:

How does this look? Monitor good? and actually i think i need a cheap cheap keyboard and mouse
  7. I have a doubt with the monitors you chose acer and hanns g because they aren't that good. I would think Samsung or Asus would be a better choice. Newegg sells some good asus for cheap price.
  8. i see. well i was thinking that one was pretty decent because its a top seller and had a Winner of Customer Choice Award - LCD Monitors thing.

can you recommend a specifc samsung or asus monitor??
  9. For 3d modeling you really want more than an athlon II 245, its not going to perform nearly as well as a phenom II would, and the quad core would do a lot better.
  10. yeah i figured....i made the switch to an AMD Phenom II X3 710 so it should be pretty good. thanks though
  11. any idea on the monitor though?
  12. This is my favorite monitor: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&sku=320-7339&~tab=specstab. Also try asking the Dell reps for a slight discount. The acer is fine though, this just has higher resolution, and is slightly larger.

    Edit: pasted wrong link
  13. thanks for the suggestion but i hate those type of resolution monitors. sure theyre nice for movies but id rather have a less extremem widescreen for normal viewing stuff
