Hi all.
I reformatted my mom's computer using the windows xp oem cd from my dell computer. I couldn't activate it, so I would just reinstall windows every 30 days until she got around to buying windows 7 for herself. My problem is that my gf's dogs ate my windows xp reinstall cd and my mom's computer is locked up since it has been more than 30 days. She ordered a windows 7 oem cd from the internet and when I go to reinstall I get a blue screen with the error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Does anyone know what I can do to install windows 7 on her computer? Thanks for any input.

Hi. you have to boot from the Windows 7 disc. Go into the bios (usually F2 when starting) and tab to the boot order. Put the CD drive at the top of the list.Save and exit. With the win 7 disc in start your computer and follow the install instructions.

Thats what I did and that is when I get the blue screen error. I don't know if it is because windows xp is expired or if it is something else
