Still the need information that the sticky asks for like monitor resolution. But a few things i see, get a SATA burner, pay the extra $20 and get home premium with a free upgrade to windows 7.

Have you considered an AMD build? With a slightly larger budget you can get a nice triple or quad core build.

Your processor isn't that great, why not try amd they good for your build because cheap, but need to change mobo if u go for amd
2mb cache is just too little.

At that resolution i would drop the PSU down to a 500watt

You will also get better performance out of a phenom II 545

Comes out to 41 more than your previous build(not including the 15 saved by the PSU) and gives you future upgrade options unlike the 775 build.

I switched the MoBo, cpu, and ram out

ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $99.99

AMD Phenom II X2 545 Callisto 3.0GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor 89.99

Crucial 1GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Desktop Memory Model CT12864BA1067 - Retail
x4= $65

total = $584

Get a 2x2 kit, it saves you 4 and will yield slightly better performance while leaving 2 of your ram slot open for future upgrades.

Yeah gigabyte makes good boards, just be aware that you will be limited on your expansion slots due to it being a micro atx board.
