PCI-E and onboard

so.. i was cleaning my computer and when i connected everything back and when it was turning on i forgot that i connected my monitor to the motherboards vgi thingy(onboard graphics) instead of my actual pci-e graphics card so i quickly switched while it was turning on and now i have no signal from the video card and its fan is on and everything but no signal and when i plug it to the onboard one i get signal :-\

check your bios and see if the default graphics is set to pci-e instead of the onboard gpu.
