I'm not sure if your plan to upgrade your display is certain, but the 4870 is a bit overpowered for that reso? Maybe a 4850 or even a 4770 would do?

Also, I'd stay away from that Seagate model. Why not a Caviar Black instead? :)

yea i got the 4870 because i plan on getting a nice display in a month or two,
and about the hard disk i didnt think there was a major difference between seagate and WD isnt just a matter of preference the quality is the same isnt it?

Seagate had horrible quality and firmware issues with the 7200.11 series of drives. I'm not convinced that they've fully fixed the issues with the 7200.12 series. Seagate also recently reduced their warranty from 5 years to 3, which doesn't impress me. I'm going to avoid Seagate until they earn my trust back. You can't go wrong with a Western Digital Black drive.

The black drives are the performance drives. They have a 32MB cache and 5 year warranty.

The blue drives are the mainstream drives. They have a 16MB cache and 3 year warranty.

The green drives are designed to be very quiet and use less energy. The platters on the green drives spin slower, so the drives are slower than the blue and black drives. These make great storage drives or HTPC drives, but are a little too slow for a main system drive IMO.
