If it's silence you're interested in, take hd4770. It uses less energy and is almost as fast as 4850. Remember, you can always oc it and get better results.

^ or get the fanless 4850 that gigabyte makes.

Well, he's got a point, I have to admit. Anyway, I prefer hd4770. That fanless 4850 from gigabyte comes with 1gb of ram, which would be another advantage for your resolution.

^ and apparently they run pretty cool at stock speeds too, beating out the stock cooler that the 4850 comes with.

Thanks for the advise guys.Ok...so its HD4770 then...what about the rest of the components, I mean any suggestions or comments on the stuff that i shortlisted

Reply to sandeep_th

@sandeep_th the HD 4770s are highly priced because of the scarcity...You can find the HD 4850s cheaper...And @ stock they are little faster than the 4770...
So I would say get the one cheaper...
And anyways that Corsair 450 has more than enough power for the 4850...

And about the HDD - Make sure you get the Seagate 7200.12 drives...

Seagate 7200.12? He said he wanted quiet PC. I'd choose Samsung 3.5 5400rpm 500gb, its really quiet and cheap. The rest is ok I think.

Reply to szymek

^ It is quiet and cheap but there would be a performance hit...Having just 1 drive might not have a big issue with the noise...
Only when you have multiple drives, the noise becomes a major issue...
So the 7200.12 is a better buy as it will be used as the primary drive...

Thanks guys...I'm not looking for something with "Pin Drop" kind of silence, as long as it does not wake my parents, it should be fine.

Thanks again for you inputs...

And one more thing...
One of the major contributor to system noise are the case fans...So replacing them with better quieter ones(Check for low dB and good CFM) would also reduce the noise effectively...

Those are quite easy to find here...thanks again

Hi Guys....
Sorry for the delay was held up at work...i finally managed to get my system setup, below is the config

AMD 550 BE
Biostar 790gbx mobo
WD 500 GB
Corsaid TWIN2X2048-6400C4
Sapphire HD4850 512 MB
Corsaid vx450
Benq E2200 HD.

Overall the system is really quite even on load and has been running straight 48 hrs without trouble. Thanks a lot to all of you for helping me.

One last questions, my GPU on load hits high as 80c after playing burnout paradise for 20 minutes. The airflow is fine, im thinking should i replace the stock cooler. I would prefer the temps to be well within 60c.

Thanks again

Reply to sandeep_th

tell you what, it will be fine on 80c, but of course 60 is much better and if you have cash then go for aftermarket cooler, cards oc abilities will rise as well.
forgot to mention, if youre ocing your cpu, check if psu does not get too hot, cause it's only 450wats and might die too fast.
