GOOGLE the model and find its specs, you didn't list the USB drives model so i can't really help with that. If you are running a ubuntu it lets you see in the device properties. In windows 7 if your device is not 2.0 and you use it, it will tell you that it is not 2.0. but if you get no notifications in windows 7 then it is almost 99% sure a 2.0 USB drive.

See how fast it transfers on a USB 2 port. If it writes data at about 25-30MB/s, and reads data at about 40-42MB/s then it is USB 2, if it is much lower, then it is USB 1.

if i had the model i would have google it myself
but it's a usb disc on key that i got as a gift from a company. there is nothing on it but the company logo... it's some kind of advertising. a free disc on key with their logo.
anyway i need to know if it's usb2

If you put it in 2.0 port and it said nothing ( no notifications) then it is 2.0 ...

urmm.. plug it in and then transfer stuff to and from it... then read the numbers which appear in the windows file transfer box... pretty simple

Not to accurate of a test, what if the hard drive is limiting the transfer?? then you will get the wrong speed.
