Problem with P5PL2-E

Hello, I have a motherboard Asus P5PL2-E and it supporting 2gb maximum ram. But i seen this motherboard with 3-4 gb ram. I checked chipset intel 945P and it support 4gb ram too. So where is the problem? Can i upgrade my bios to solve this problem? After upgrading bios it can supports 4gb ram? Thanks for answers and sorry for my bad english

Check the ASUS website for updates to your motherboard. If you go to their global site, you will see all products they have. Just look up your motherboard and check the "Downloads" section, and see if they have a newer BIOS. Typically, the maximum amount of data that a single RAM module holds is 2 GB. Now if you have 2 slots, then that would mean you can have up to 4 GB worth of RAM. The 2 GB "maximum" RAM must have been there to prevent 32-bit users from asking where did the 0.5 - 1 GB of their precious RAM went to, because of the 4 GB 32-bit limit.

actually, if u update BIOS, u will have a max of 4 GB. I have the same motherboard ;)
