My PSU is a Delta DPS-400QB 400w

I am currently running

core 2 quad q8300

4gigs of 800mhz ram

1 hard drive

nvidia gt120 1gb (rebaged 9500gt 1gb)

yep you have power to spare... 4770 barely draws any power.....

but make sure your next upgrade is a name brand PSU... you can get a 500w for a mere 50 bucks....

Lol! Junk that PSU ASAP. Get a Quality 450-550W PSU from Corsair, Antec, PC Power & Cooling, or OCZ.

I'm kinda shocked by that response.
It's a low end Delta with an output of over 30 amps combined on the 12v rails, easily enough for the OP's system with the upgraded card.

I have to agree that it's not the best power supply but as far as the card goes....... it draws most if not all of the power it needs from the pci-e slot........ so yes, it'll work.

Keep that PSU if you want but don't come crying when it blows and takes your mobo like most of the threads here.

You could run xfire 4770's on that psu.

care to link those thread? I just read the top threads titles for the past two days and have yet to see one with a "generic" PSU blowing up a mobo

Why would the PSU fry his mobo? Normally this happens when there is a massive power shortage or by user error, I have never seen a PSU fry a mobo just for the hell of it......
