IBM sells standalone keyboards with TrackPoints, but they are not 'mini',
and they aren't cheap either.

Actually, IBM does not sell them. IBM sold it's keyboard business to
Lexmark, Lexmark sold it to another company, and the other company sold
it to still a 4th company.

I don't think there is a fourth company. www.pckeyboard.com is Unicomp, the
same company that bought the keyboard business from Lexmark in 1996:
In my other reply I posted a link to the IBM TrackPoint USB Space Saver
Keyboard, but I don't see that model listed in the keyboard page above. It
may not be in production any more. But there are a couple of other models
listed on that page that may fit the OP's needs: the 87-Key Space Saver II
Keyboard and the USB Keyboard with UltraNav.
A note on interfaces: IBM's 87-Key Space Saver II Keyboard and both of the
Unicomp/pckeyboard models have PS/2 interfaces. The USB Keyboard with
UltraNav is, of course, USB.
