According to my Dell Dimension 4700 system configuration, my computer has 256 MB of PC2-3200 (400MHz) DDR2 memory. Since the system is several years old, purchasing PC2-3200 memory is difficult since many places do not carry it.
Can I install PC2-5300 (667 MHz) DDR2 memory?
According to the memory manufacturer, it is compatible with (and will work in) systems with PC2-3200 (400MHz) DDR2 memory. I would be replacing the current PC2-3200 memory with the new memory.

dude, ddr mem just upgrade to a ddr3 or atleased a ddr2 for cying out loud, but yes it would fit and work but do you really see a big increase in performance, no i don't think so.
